Council has recently signed a franchise agreement with FortisAlberta. This will enable us to receive the best service from them. The cost of putting up security cameras and the ongoing expense will be much less. Through this agreement, we can charge a franchise fee to our residents on the distribution portion of the power bill. Most of you will already be familiar with this process on your home power bill. The decision of council is to charge a 3% franchise fee beginning sometime in the new year. This fee is nominal and will help offset the cost of the power required for the security cameras.
